A Phillies Rorschach test

The Phillies won two of three in Los Angeles vs. the Dodgers. But is that the biggest story?

Fight.

Resiliency.

Mental toughness.

As the Phillies went to Los Angeles and took care of business this week, those are likely words or phrases you or I associated with them on Monday and Tuesday night. Those were well earned. They are true. The Phillies went on the road, captured the NL East, and basically put the clamps down on the Dodgers in the race for the No. 2 seed and bye.

It’s fair to stop the takeaways there, and ignore any more detail.

But there is one part of the now completed three-game series vs. the Dodgers that served as a bit of a Rorschach test if these two teams do indeed matchup in the NLDS early next month.

And what I saw is reason to be at least mildly concerned.
