That looked awfully familiar.
As I watched the Eagles win a gritty, defensive 16-9 game over the Detroit Lions, it was hard not to think ahead. At 8-2, the Eagles are a commanding position in the NFC—both in the division and conference. With head-to-head wins over the Rams, Bucs, Packers and Lions, the path to the No. 1 seed, bye and home field advantage in the conference is there for the taking now.
But even with all there is to look forward to, my mind raced back in time.
Last night’s game was played in 2025, but it sure reminded me of a matchup from the past involving a dynasty.
