Are we going too far with technology in sports?
The NFL announced a new innovative shift for the 2025 season, using technology to replace humans. So it goes.

Another day, another technological advancement in sports.
During a slew of rule changes, voting (including cowardly tabling the Tush Push decision), and deliberation, the NFL set the scene for how the 2025 season will look. One thing you won’t be seeing any longer: The Chain Gang.
Instead, something called Sony Hawk-Eye will take over the task of deciding on whether or not the spotted football is actually a first down.
Here’s how the league announced the change.
"The NFL and Sony are integrating world-class on-field officiating with state-of-the-art technology to advance football excellence," NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said. "Combining the art of officiating with Sony's trusted Hawk-Eye system is a healthy recipe for success in our commitment to raising the standards of accuracy, consistency and efficiency.
"Replay technology and data-driven insights from Sony's Hawk-Eye Innovations aid us in advancing our efforts toward the future of football."
But is this actually a good thing for the excitement and drama of the game?
Hardly.
