Can we be honest about Saquon Barkley?

It's been a rough season for the player ranked as the best in the NFL by his peers.

Are we ready for an honest conversation about Saquon Barkley?

Yes, the guy who helped carry the Eagles offense to a Super Bowl last year. The same guy voted as the top player in the sport by his peers. The running back that electrified the sport in 2024, re-wrote history books, was this close to the all-time rushing record, and then rewarded with a new long-term contract.

That Saquon.

He’s not this Saquon.

Why? Probably a lot of reasons. The Eagles offensive line isn’t close to its normal level. Teams are selling out to stop the run, forcing Jalen Hurts to be a consistent winner with his arm. All those touches last year likely added up on Barkley, changing his explosiveness.

But have we considered something else? Perhaps another reason Barkley isn’t as great?
