Cristopher Sanchez is taking over this title

What a development story.

What a bargain.

I kept thinking those three thoughts as Cristopher Sanchez mowed down a good Giants team on Thursday to help the Phillies split a challenging series.

After months of hype, Sanchez has lived up to the billing so far in 2025. Through four starts, Sanchez owns a 2.96 ERA, 5.17 SO/BB, 11.5 K/9, 3.57 FIP, and 51.6 ground ball rate. If not for some poor defense in the infield behind him yesterday, his dominant outing would have looked even better. We’re watching a top-of-the-rotation arm get better by the year.

And we’re also watching Sanchez skyrocket up a short list in Philadelphia sports.
