Guessing Eagles’ Week 1 starting defense

The Eagles lost a ton off last year’s historically great defense. Here’s how the 2025 unit could look early on.

It’s going to look different.

When we last saw the Eagles defense, the best unit in franchise history was dismantling Patrick Mahomes and taking down a dynasty.

Since then? Josh Sweat and Milton Williams walked out the door in free agency. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson was traded. Darius Slay was cut.

As for the replacements? Well, many come with questions, both from a physical and mental readiness standpoint.

So how will this look early on? After listening to Vic Fangio’s press conference on Tuesday, here’s my best guess on how the Eagles take the field on Sept. 4 vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
