How much will it cost to keep this Eagles defense together?

Football is back!

As the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles report for training camp, all eyes will be on a team with a legitimate chance to win back-to-back Super Bowls and allow us to use the “D” (as in dynasty) word.

If another special year commences, it will take many things going the Eagles way, including health and efficient offensive play. But a big part will be the bones of the best defense in the NFL, led by young stars Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean and Nolan Smith.

That Core Four is here for now, and years to come. But how much will it cost the Eagles to keep them all over the next few years? If recent contracts in the NFL are instructive, here’s a guess.
