I’ll be running in the Eagles Autism Foundation 5K next month. Here’s how you can donate to a great cause.
Last night’s Phillies game was one to forget.
Poor pitching. Poor defense. Poor offense. An all-around ugly 6-0 late-night loss out west. Hopefully, you were smarter than I was and got some extra sleep. It’s one of those games we should want to forget—except for this nugget.
Through 11 games (yes, still a small sample size), the Phillies have just one everyday hitter with a batting average above .300: Justin Crawford. Yes, Brandon Marsh is hitting .324. But he’s a platoon guy—sitting against left-handed pitchers. Crawford, along with Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto, is being asked to play everyday.
A case can be made that Crawford is now and will be the Phillies best contact and average hitter this season.
So, you know the question that’s already pouring in, right?
