Pros and cons of the Phillies hitting Trea Turner leadoff

Do we really think this is going to work?

The Phillies are taking the “hey, don’t be surprised if we shake up the lineup!” soft launch pretty far in the first week of camp.

The manager is hinting at it. Basically every beat writer in camp is all over it. Every player impacted has given an opinion on it. While it’s not terribly surprising to see the Phillies try to pull the only lever they might have left without shaking up the actual core of the lineup, it’s still notable: By moving Kyle Schwarber down (and putting Trea Turner at the top), the Phillies are messing with one thing that’s been a constant over the last few years.

Will it work? What’s the benefit if it does?
