I have some homework for you this weekend.

Well, it’s actually homework that I’ll be doing. I just wanted to invite you along for the ride.

As the Phillies get set for a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals, I’m not just focused on the games at hand. Sure, winning a series against a below-average team would be great. But I’m thinking bigger picture.

This Cardinals team isn’t good, is caught between yesterday and tomorrow, and will almost surely end up a seller at the July 31 MLB trade deadline. And they just so happen to have players that could fit the Phillies needs really well.

Here are three Cardinals that I have a close eye on this season, and especially this weekend.
