Once in a while, a little thing will remind you of how different it is around here.

Before the Eagles Radio Network pregame show during home games, I usually go for a walk around the concourse of The Linc. After hosting for the last two years, I know the stadium—and many of the faces that work on game day—pretty well. It’s a different view when it’s empty. No noise. No crowd. Just the walls, murals and empty concession stands.

Much is typical of what I’d imagine any NFL stadium to be. But some things are not. One of those that feels very unique to Philadelphia: The stand selling Stoutland University t-shirts and sweatshirts to benefit the Eagles Autism Foundation. The unique part isn’t the foundation (a great cause) but rather the famous Eagles figure depicted on the merchandise: An offensive line coach.

Jeff Stoutland.

Perhaps some of Stoutland’s rise in popularity was due to us just being a little bit more crazy about football than other cities. But much of it also has to do with how great of a position coach he was and is—hammering home the loss the organization experienced when he walked away yesterday.

One word keeps coming to mind as I think about this Eagles offseason, with Stoutland’s exit adding to it.

Transition.

New offensive coordinator.

New system.

New pass game coordinator.

New offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

Vic Fangio retirement rumors.

A.J. Brown trade rumors.

Who knows what’s next for Lane Johnson.

I am under the belief that the Eagles could (and should) take a quarterback as early as Day 2 of the NFL Draft.

Does this offseason scream “all in” to you? It doesn’t to me. It screams transition. The Eagles Super Bowl window has been open since the end of the 2021 season. That’s four NFL seasons of legitimate Super Bowl belief. It’s manifested in 50 wins, two Super Bowl trips, and a Lombardi Trophy. It’s been incredible. It also feels like we’re at an inflection point where that window is closing, and we’re watching the organization try to simultaneously prepare to open it’s next window ASAP.

Stout out, transition underway.

The Sixers should invest in this team. They’ve earned it.

Here’s what the Eagles can learn from the teams in Super Bowl 60.
