The best part of yesterday for the Eagles

Playing the Las Vegas Raiders was just what the doctor ordered for the Eagles, but something else happened yesterday even bigger than a win.

We needed that.

After five straight weeks of bite-your-nails games, we got a laugher.

Eagles 31, Raiders 0.

Jalen Hurts was very good. The defense was dominant. The fourth quarter was handled by the backups. You couldn’t have drawn it up any better after three consecutive losses cast a shadow on this team’s Super Bowl defense.

But the best thing to happen for the Eagles’ chances to get to the Super Bowl had very little to do with the details of the lopsided victory over the Raiders.
