Jalen Hurts was exactly what the Eagles needed to eek out a win over the Cowboys in Week 1.

What in the world did we just watch?

Jalen Carter ejected before the first offensive play. A second spitter. Nine penalties for 110 yards. A weather delay lasting over an hour. Outgained by an inferior team on opening night. Atrocious corner back play. Saquon Barkley held in check.

Yet it still all equaled a 24-20 victory on banner night for the defending Super Bowl champions.

The biggest reason?

Jalen Hurts’ best trait was on display all night.
