Late in every season, across every sport, teams develop it. Sometimes, it’s the odds on favorite to win a title in a particular season developing a steely-eyed demeanor heading into the postseason. Yet often it’s not, but rather a group that’s come together to coalesce late in the season.

I’m talking about a team like the Flyers, one of the best teams across all of professional sports since the NHL returned from the Olympic break. We’re not watching a fluke. We’re watching a legitimate Eastern Conference playoff team crash the playoff party.
