When I was prepping for yesterday’s show, the headline hit me like a freight train.

ESPN’s ‘Inside Eagles’ 2025 friction as Jalen Hurts stands at crossroads’ didn’t just sum up a well-written, deeply-sourced article about the Eagles and the present and future of their starting quarterback. It painted the picture of what’s happened to an offense that went from ahead of the curve in 2022 to fully behind in 2025.

Three-year declines like this shouldn’t happen to an offense this expensive and this talented, especially over the course of the tenures of three different coordinators. The Eagles realized at some point in 2025 that the offense was broken. For plenty of people willing to talk for the story, a main culprit is obvious: The quarterback.

The article has a ton to digest (I suggest reading it in its entirety), but this line hit the hardest, especially when it pertains to Hurts’ future as the franchise’s face, leader and quarterback.
