The major MLB change you might not be ready for

The Robots are coming.

Today is one of my favorite days of the year: The day Phillies baseball returns to the WIP airwaves.

I know, I know.

It’s only the first game of spring training. Most regulars won’t play. We’re still weeks away from Opening Day. It’s more ceremonial than anything else. We’ll forget the result five minutes after the game ends. That doesn’t mean I won’t have the first pitch on my Audacy app or radio at 1:05. There’s something about baseball that’s a familiar sound that brings back old memories and makes us all excited for what’s to come.

But this time the sound may be different, at some very specific times during the broadcast.

The reason?

Robots.
