The most alarming part of the Phillies struggles

The Phillies went 2-4 on a road trip to Atlanta and St. Louis, looking like a team with some real issues.

Here’s an exercise to try: Name the Phillies biggest issue right now.

A substandard outfield? Alec Bohm? Shaky bullpen? Below-league average production at catcher, shortstop, third base, left field and center field? Back-to-back less-than-stellar Zack Wheeler starts? Aaron Nola’s noticeable dip in production? One of baseball’s worst team hard-hit rates? A revolving door at the leadoff spot?

Oh, what’s that?

There’s too many to choose just one? Yes, that seems like an early-season issue.

But I would argue something else stands above, and perhaps is setting the stage for a summer of change within this franchise.
