The most encouraging sign from Phillies Opening Day win

Sometimes the real truth lies beneath the numbers. Let's hope that's the case for one polarizing member of the 2025 Phillies.

A win is a win, right?

As the Phillies got out of Nationals Park with a 7-3 Opening Day win, a Rorschach test unfolded for fans.

Should we focus on Alec Bohm’s clutch go-ahead hit up the left-center field gap and Zack Wheeler’s dominance? Or should we highlight the 19 strikeouts and Jordan Romano’s shaky debut out the bullpen?

You can view the first victory of the season however you want, but I did notice something encouraging that perhaps didn’t show up in the box score or hit you right away.
