Do you ever see things differently once the dust settles?
I do, especially when looking at how each NFL team drafts. As the 2025 NFL Draft was going on, I had an idea of some winners and losers. The Eagles first-round pick of Jihaad Campbell was exciting, yet came with medical red flags. Andrew Mukuba was one of my Eagles Big Board guys, so obviously I’m in on that selection.
But what about after that? How did the whole picture look?
When diving back in, one pick stood out in particular as the most interesting.
Ty Robinson.
Yes, the defensive tackle from Nebraska.
While there’s few things inherently interesting about Nebraska defensive tackles, Robinson might be an outlier.
Let’s start with his production. Last year, Robinson had seven sacks. He had 11 quarterback hits, which was more than any defensive tackle in college football. Think about that for a second. More than Mason Graham, Walter Nolen, or (my guy) Derrick Harmon. There’s real pass rush juice here. Watch his highlights for two minutes and you see a strong defender at the point of attack, with more moves than you may think. With Milton Williams gone, this was a huge need. Robinson can help fill it now, and become something even more into the future.
He was used on offense as a fullback in goal line sets, and success often followed. If the Tush Push is banned in the coming weeks, perhaps Robinson serves as part of the antidote for the Eagles new short yardage attack.
Then there’s the less important, but fun stuff. He has a pet camel? And once you see this side-by-side with him looking like a polar bear standing up, well, you can’t unsee it.
Count me in as a Robinson fan. This pick has a chance to be a really good one.
I’ll be walking in the Eagles Autism Challenge on May 17. You can donate to a great cause here.
Did you want the Eagles to draft Shedeur Sanders as he fell down the draft board? I didn’t.
My winners and losers across the NFL Draft.
