The real issue within the latest Jalen Hurts report

Do the Eagles have a Jalen Hurts problem? It sure seems like someone wants us to believe that.

Sometimes it’s better to ask “why” than “what” when reports surface around star players.

For the Eagles, the drama never stops. Even at 8-2, questions remain about the viability of the 2025 offense. Part of me gets it: We just watched the team win back-to-back games with 16 total points for the first time in nearly 100 years. The offense is an issue, and now it’ll be without Lane Johnson for a long period of time. I get it, but I’ve also accepted it. This team will go as far as their defense takes them.

But that doesn’t mean we have to ignore what longtime Eagles insider Derrick Gunn said after the win over the Lions.

According to Gunn, there are “lots of people frustrated with the QB situation” within the Eagles.

This, of course, follows a pattern. It’s similar to what Dianna Russini has reported for The Athletic. That’s notable to me. Instead of wondering what is going on, I go back to why. Why now?

Here’s my theory to why this is leaking now, even as the team is trying to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
