The Sixers have reached a new low

Hopeless is a sad state to live in.

There are sports lows.

And then there are Sixers lows.

Last night’s 124-104 shellacking at the hands of the Boston Celtics to open up the post-All-Star break portion of the schedule wasn’t a terribly surprising outcome. Boston is the defending NBA champions, and on a path to admirably defend their crown. The Sixers are now 20-35, tied with the Brooklyn Nets for 11th in the Eastern Conference in what may end up the saddest playoff race of all time.

But it wasn’t the loss that did it.

Here’s the moment I knew we had reached a new Sixers low.
