When the Eagles took the the field to start the 2025 preseason, it was Tanner Time. No, the starters weren’t out there on offense. They’re likely on ice until the real games start next month. Instead, Tanner McKee lit up the Bengals with a 20-for-25, 252-yard performance, including three total touchdowns (two in the air, one via the tush push).

Now that we’ve collectively moved from “can McKee play?” to “is he a future NFL starter?” takes, there’s one question that I keep coming back to with McKee, his career moving forward, and NFL history at the quarterback position.
