We should all root against this proposed NFL rule change
NFL teams submitted rule change proposals for consideration at the upcoming owners meetings. Let's hope this one isn't passed.

Can we please stop taking the drama out of sports?
With every advancement of technology (robot umpires, instant replay, etc), sports fans lose a little bit of the edge-of-your-seat and can’t-miss-this-moment stuff that hooked us all to the games we now love.
So let’s hope the latest NFL rule change proposal by the Detroit Lions garners little support next week at the annual league meetings.
In case you missed it, here’s what the Lions (fresh off of winning the NFL’s toughest division) are proposing: NFL playoff seeding no longer being tied directly to division finish ahead of overall record. For example (using Detroit's proposal), last year’s end-of-season NFC North battle would have still had the No. 1 seed on the line, but the detriment for the loser (in this case Minnesota) would have been the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the NFC, not the No. 5 and a road game on Wild Card weekend.
Here’s why, despite some support from teams, we should all be against this.
