What are the Phillies waiting for with Max
It’s better to cut ties too early rather than too late.

The clock is ticking on Max Kepler’s time with the Phillies.
Or at least it should be.
After another poor weekend at the plate, Kepler enters play on June 30 sporting a .207/.302/.374 slash line. Those numbers are equal parts bad and astonishing, considering the Phillies have protected Kepler from facing tough lefties all year. That means Kepler can barely keep his head above water with the platoon advantage.
Add in a week of calling out his usage and Rob Thomson having to answer questions about it, and the stage is set for Kepler to be moved off the team.
So why hasn’t it happened yet?
