What happened to the game I love?

That’s all I kept thinking as I heard Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred float the idea of expansion (of which I am fine with) and geographical realignment (of which I am not fine with) during Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.

Before we talk about how bad this would be for the sport, here’s what Manfred said in case you missed it.

"I think if we expand, it provides us with an opportunity to geographically realign," Manfred said. "I think we could save a lot of wear and tear on our players in terms of travel. And I think our postseason format would be even more appealing for entities like ESPN, because you'd be playing out of the east and out of the west."
