Sometimes it’s not about what happened, but why it’s happening.

On Thursday, Dudes on Dudes (hosted by Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski) released an episode with an A.J. Brown interview. You can check out the whole thing for yourself. The premise is harmless: Brown, who grew up a Patriots fan and dreamt of being drafted by the franchise, hanging out and talking football with two guys he probably idolized as a kid.

But at the end, well, this happened.

Meaningful? Silly? Annoying?

Pick your emotion of choice.

Here’s mine.

Enough.

Enough is enough.

Brown did nothing wrong going on the podcast. He didn’t say anything inflammatory about the Eagles, basically saying nothing at all about the team he’s currently employed by.

But is the wink really necessary? Can we grow up? Who’s having fun watching the Eagles No. 1 wide receiver insinuate that he wishes he was on a different team? I can’t imagine many Eagles fans. I know I’m not.

It’s been my belief for a while that Brown simply wants out. It’s why I would trade him this offseason, even if it means a big cap hit. The whole situation feels untenable, and frankly not worth the headache any longer.

Is Jalen Hurts a top-75 quarterback of all time?

What should the Eagles ask for in a potential Brown trade? I explored that on WIP Daily.
