What would a Kyle Schwarber-Phillies contract extension look like?
Kyle Schwarber is off to a red-hot start. When the season ends, the Phillies slugger will be a free agent.

Get that checkbook ready, John Middleton.
As the 5-1 Phillies get set to host the undefeated Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend, stars will be all over the field at Citizens Bank Park. Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Bryce Harper, Zack Wheeler, Blake Snell, Yoshinoubu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Trea Tuner.
And, of course, Kyle Schwarber.
The Phillies slugger is off to an outrageous start (.308/.357/.808, 4 HR) this year, and continuing what he’s done since he arrived in Philadelphia. But the clock is ticking on Schwarber’s Phillies tenure. When the season ends, Schwarber will be a free agent for just the second time in his career and in a much better position to create a bidding war than when the Phillies signed him post-lockout in March 2022.
So what would it cost to re-sign Schwarber right now? What’s a fair price for (mostly) DH as he enters his mid-30s?
Here’s my guess at what a Schwarber-Phillies contract extension could look like.
